I need help! First, thank you so much for your skin care class at Pinners this past weekend. I learned so much. I went away determined to get quality retinol and eye cream, as you instructed. My husband went with me to Sephora last night to shop for what you recommended and he and the clerk there sort of took over and we wound up buying these two products: For the retinol, Kate Somerville Anti-Aging RetAsphere Micro Peel. And for an eye cream, Perricone High Potency Eye Lift, not even an eye cream (I am completely confused about whether I should be using an eye CREAM or an eye SYRUM, which this seems to be). I was overwhelmed by all the choices the clerk talked about and bulldozed by the clerk and now feel very unsure about both very expensive purchases. Can you help me? I have not opened them and want to take them back to exchange for what you tell me to get if you recommend that I do so. I am 52 and have very oily skin. (I was the one who asked you if you think I should keep using Proactiv, if you remember that.) Could you please advise me? This situation is freaking me out!
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline- try not to freak out, it will all be ok- although I understand the worry when it comes to trying new (expensive) things. Both of those brands and products are great. The Kate Sommerville however isn't a product I would apply nightly- because it is a peel and too active for daily use. Start with Twice a week and add on from there if your skin tolerates it well, and remember that will act as your 'exfoliant' AND your 'retinol' in the regimen I outlined during the class. The Pericone will be wonderful you as well- a serum is slightly more concentrated than a cream, so you'll see results a little more rapidly, which is a great thing. I think you are on the right track, so go ahead and try them both, just keep in mind it can take up to 30 days to see results anytime you switch or add products. If you are seeing redness or drying, cut back on the Kate Sommerville. Good luck!
