Heyo! It's time for another episode of Stylewise, and this time I'm switching things up in the length department! I wanted to throw in some tape-in extensions while the weather was still cool because they act like your own personal space heater for your head, and I want nothing to do with them once the temps outside reach 60 degrees or higher. I also opted to add a 'Sombre' effect to my extensions, aka Subtle-Ombre if you haven't heard of that made-up word floating around the beauty world...
Take a look at the video below to see the process of how I achieved this look!
Tools Mentioned in Video:
Harry Josh Dryer
Nume Flat Iron (Save 40% with code: WINTERSNOW)
What do you think? Let me know in the comments down below- and tell me if you have any plans for a new look yourself this New Year? xo
Gorgeous! Wish I lived by you so you could do my hair! I'm in a rut. :/
ReplyDeleteThanks Tara! I would suggest you find some of the local salons around you on instagram, and start to follow their work for a while. Often you can find a stylist that really stands out on there, or specializes in the type of hair you have or want. Then it's not a 'blind' appointment when you go see them for the first time. Good luck, but I wish you lived close too! xo Megan
DeleteBeautiful!!! And I was dying over the part where the girls are fighting over what looks like a phone in the background :)
ReplyDeleteYes, they were being all sorts of naughty back there! Thank goodness- I didn't keep the audio in the final edit... ha!
DeleteWhat do you recommend for a hair straightener. I can only invest in one. What is you all around favorite straightener?
ReplyDeleteHi StrollerMama! I swear by Nume tools http://bit.ly/1AJiAAy - they are my favorite by far! Their MegaStar Flat Iron is awesome, and I highly recommend it and use mine at home and in the salon daily. Nume always has great coupon codes available, right now they have 'WINTERSNOW' for 40% off, but I would try and see if you can still get the MegaStar using the Holiday promo because that was only $69 (reg $169) and that link is here: http://bit.ly/1y97oL3 hopefully it still works! good luck, let me know if you end up buying it and how you like it. Megan
DeleteSo glad I stumbled across this link. It still works and I ordered one today. I hope I love it. Thanks!
DeleteThanks! What is your favorite beside the Nume? Currently, I have a croc and my hair is breaking off. I want something I can go to Ulta or Sephora and pick up. I don't mind spending a little more if I can find one that will not break my hair. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteIf that is the case then I would go with the Eclipse from GHD at Sephora http://bit.ly/1C94xli they should have them in stores, and a few other GHD options as well. It's a top professional line- I have one of these in the salon as well, and it's awesome! GHD is also the line that does the models hair for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show... so you know they make great styling tools!
DeleteHave you ever used the Halo Couture hair extensions? I want longer hair so so so bad!! And waiting for it to grow naturally takes too long ;) I've heard that these extensions are the least damaging. Do you have any thoughts or opinions on this specific brand? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Makayla- I've never personally worn the Halo Couture extensions, but I think the concept is really innovative and I'd love to try them. I have heard from a few people that have worn them that the biggest complaint is that they are very heavy to wear for a long period of time, and all of the weight is held on that single wire which gets sore on your scalp where it lies. As far as damage goes there wouldn't be any because they are a temporary system that comes right out similar to a clip in extension. Damage from extensions usually only happens during sleep and when brushing out tangles after shampooing, and both of those issue don't happen with temporary extensions since you don't sleep or shower in them... If I ever do get a set of the Halo hair though I'll definitely do a review here on the blog, and if you end up getting them let me know what you think! I'd love to know! Thanks for reading, xo Megan
