I'm not going to lie. The last time I had a bottle of Clearasil in my hands was probably 9th grade- it's been a while. So when they sent me some products from their new line Daily Clear to try, I was intrigued to say the least. As a business owner I know that a company must be ever-evolving to stick around as long as Clearasil has, so for that alone I am impressed. But business savvy doesn't clear zits, so the products have to be working as well.
If you read my blog for very long, you're certain to come across a post where I mention my acne troubled skin. It is a big part of my life, so I talk about it [probably too much- so I apologize] and I am constantly looking for the magic cure that will one day help me be blemish free. Lately I have put my skin through the ringer with some pretty harsh products, that have helped, but at a cost. I decided to opt for a break from those chemicals and give my skin a little recovery time. And so this experiment with Clearasil fits perfectly into my recent gentle approach.
The Daily Clear line is made up of products that all contain raspberry and cranberry extracts, combined with a small 1% dose of Salicylic Acid. I am a BIG believer in the power of fruit and their exfoliating enzymes, so this line is one that doesn't make me question its' ingredients.
The Refreshing Superfruit Pads are the star of the line in my opinion because they are so quick and easy to use, and they feel the most 'active' as far as their potency and ability to exfoliate. They give a nice tingle to the skin so that you know its working- but the low level of Salicylic Acid isn't harsh enough to cause drying or peeling. The scrub is also a nice change of pace for me because its' particles are quite small and don't feel too rough, and they're encased in a really airy cream that is easy to spread on the face.
I'm going to keep up with the use of the whole line for the next couple months to see what my face does with a consistent break from my stronger acne products, so I'll let you know about my progress. But it is safe to say that I am really impressed with the 'grown-up' version of Clearasil, and that it makes a great option for budget friendly products if you're in the market.
***Bonus- Right now you can try a product for free using this online rebate. Whahoo! It's part of their #wintheday campaign, and you can join in too. Let me know if you do, because I want to hear about your experience with these products.
See you all next week- have a great weekend!

I had a horrible time with really painful acne along my jawline and neck that would take months to go away and left red discoloration for a really long time. After years of trying a ton of different products and nothing working a friend that sells Mary Kay suggested their acne line. Honestly, I'd never thought much of MK because I didn't want to go through the hassle of having to order through someone and really wasn't sure their stuff was any good. Well, I stand corrected and am a MK convert. The acne line cleared me up and I've never been happier with my skin. Just thought I'd suggest it since I've had such good luck with it! (I hated to leave this on a sponsored post for another product, but I am just so happy I found something that worked I had to share)
ReplyDeleteHi April! Thanks so much for sharing, I haven't heard anything about the MK acne line, so I will definitely look into it! xo
ReplyDeleteOne of the great things is if it doesn't work for you it's all returnable, which really appealed to me after years of money wasted. I got the set to start with (it's a little cheaper as a bundle) and slowly incorporated into my routine so it wouldn't dry me out, but ended up not needing the toner and even though it's been months and months I'm able to return it. I feel kind of like I'm preaching the word (lol), which I don't normally do, but I was so miserable with my skin and this worked so well for me that I just have to share in case it can help someone else. I'm so thankful my friend suggested it and bonus, it helps support her small business so it's a win-win. Have a great weekend! :)
