This topic is touchy for me- I have avoided talking about it much on here, but that nagging thought won't leave my dang mind, so here goes: Today, I am going to pledge to you- my amazing readers, that I am going to STOP PICKING MY SKIN! And I hope that you all will join me in this movement, for the sake of our beautiful future selves.
I have been a zit picker as long as I can remember- it started young. Some of my best memories with my sister are when we would stand side-by-side, inches from the mirror picking, popping, comparing our results. We laughed a lot during this weird pastime, but little did I know, I was doing long term damage to my skin. Unfortunately, now I deal with my acne scars on a daily basis- oh what I would give to undo what I've done. And I am ashamed to admit- I still continue to pick even now, after years in the beauty industry and knowing the harm that can be caused.
But, today is the day! No more further damage.

Read the pledge, join the movement by signing your name in the comments below- and keep your hands off! Let's do this people.
-I will stop and think about the long term results of picking before I do it. Scars last forever- a zit lasts a few days.
-I will remember that covering a red bump with makeup is much easier than a bleeding wound or a scab.
-I pledge to refrain from picking or popping blemishes, zits, and dry skin spots.
-I will exercise my self control and just keep my hands off!

Simple but powerful. Writing goals down has always helped me to achieve them- and pledging in public, well that's new to me. But I am hopeful that this post will help you too. Please let me know what your results are after you take the no-picking pledge too.
I NEED to pledge that! I will try!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I've started to comment on several of your post, but always anxious to read another post :-)
ReplyDeleteI was very curious on this one though -- have you stuck to your pledge? I made a pledge a long time ago not to touch my face -- you know -- propping my face up with my hands in meetings -- type touching. This has helped me not have breakouts for years. I still get an occasional pimple around my chin where the phone hits it, but that's mostly it.
But when I get one, I can never resist going after it!

Hi Jessica- Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I have done really well with my pledge- I must say that I haven't been 100%, more like 90% with the non touching/popping. It's a hard habit to break, but I am so happy that I am making strides to be hands-off completely. My skin is looking better for sure- so I am really proud of that!
DeleteThanks for checking in with me- I was actually planning a follow up post for this, to talk about it in more detail, so stay tuned for that. xoxo Megan
I know this stuff, but alas, I have no self control.

I know! It is so hard to keep hands off, but signing my name to the pledge and placing a little reminder in my bathroom mirror has helped me. Good luck and thanks for reading and commenting! Megan
DeleteIf you are looking for the best wrinkle cream available, you should check user testimonials. Usually companies post this information online and you can check user reviews and if possible satisfy yourselves with the before and after pictures. Some companies use such formulas in their products that after using their products women never have to resort to surgery to enjoy youthful skin. skin care treatments
